In every generation God calls men to bear Divine Trust. Such trust comes in form of a burden – a burden for the malady of the age, and the expansion of God’s kingdom. It is only by faith we respond to this call, and as we pursue this, we shall have increased confirmation of the Call, and evidence of the Divine Trust.
We do not lean on natural abilities; we do not trust in our native strength, neither are we discouraged by our inabilities, weakness and immaturity. Rather, we see this work as an avenue to strengthen our spiritual muscles, to grow and become more useful to the kingdom.
Our one concern is to have the Master lead and direct in all we do. We seek the constant evidence of the Divine Presence – That soul refreshing rest and peace amidst whatever toil and discouragement we may face; that still small voice that draws our heart in love for the Master, and gives us an inner audacity to press on; that burden of heart that keeps us on our knees, pleading for a lost world and revival of a dying church; that unction of the Holy Spirit that turns the world upside down! It is this that is the assurance of our commission; not the achievement of some physical feat…
We will work from the vantage point of rest in Christ; we will do that which falls to our path, however small or great, we will work, one day at a time. Our hope is not in what we can do, but what God can do in and through us. Therefore, we are grateful that He has granted us a place in His service. We do not compare ourselves with any man, we are aware that there are many involved in similar work as the Lord has commissioned us to undertake, but we are conscious of the unique path we must take, and now we must blaze the trail. While we seek to plough in lands where no man has yet ploughed, we are grateful whenever we have opportunity and privilege to compliment the works of fellow comrades.
With eternity in view, and as in the presence of the Lord, we will do all the Lord has commissioned us. We will work while it is day, He has given us a burden for this generation, and we will not rest, until we have fulfilled our ministry, until we have finished our course, completely discharging our duties. We care nothing of making monuments; whether of personal names or of co-operate organization. We are content to be unknown, only let Christ be known – Amen!!!
We are grateful that we now have this platform of GOSPEL ALLIANCE; this became necessary for the purpose of being organized. In as much as we shall maximize it, we shall not make an idol of it, or put our hope in its superstructure and grand organization… We are determined to work with the Holy Spirit; as long as the Holy Spirit is pleased to work through this platform, we are willing to continue on this platform. Should this platform at any time become a hindrance to the work of the Spirit, and a distraction from our call, we will readily abandon it; it is not indispensable. Our concern is to execute our mandate as the Lord pleases.
We go into this work assured of His Presence, and thank God for this assurance, but we dare not rest in a one-time experience. We shall crave for deeper encounters with God. We know this means a continuous and high level of consecration; this is the price we must pay, because the work cannot be done otherwise. We cannot afford to fail this generation; we cannot afford to fail God! Therefore, we are determined by the grace of God, to pay this price, to take heed to ourselves, and to the ministry we have received of the Lord, to fulfill it.
