We are created for God’s glory, we are redeemed to give Him pleasure. How best do we exude that glory other than in the proclamation of the gospel. It is in relation to this duty we read: “for God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shine in our hearts, to give the light of the glory of God in the face Jesus Christ” To proclaim the gospel is to bear this image of Christ; and though it is an earthen vessel, the excellency of the power would be of God. The highest glory we can give to God in time is to carry the gospel, and the highest glory we would bear for eternity will only be the reward of our sufferings for the gospel” (2Cor.4:17)
